Rose Collectors Programme — Named recommendations across Europe – PharmaRosa®

In alliance with rose collectors

Rose collectors are the ones who not only know the varieties, but also trial, compare and observe them in the garden over many years. This multi-year, hands-on knowledge is an irreplaceable asset. PharmaRosa® aims to integrate this experience into the rose variety pages – systematised, acknowledged by name and made visible across Europe – to support the development of European garden rose culture.

Experience that creates value – and becomes visible by name across Europe

The gardens of rose collectors are living collections: here a variety is not a description but a real behaviour. Multi-year observations (flowering, fragrance, habit, tolerance, maintenance needs) provide practical knowledge that gives buyers a decision-making advantage and gives varieties a better chance of ending up in the right garden.

The essence of the programme is that we display collector experience on the rose variety pages, always under Your name and with Your country noted. In this way, Your professional recommendation does not remain scattered in forum comments, but in a searchable, updatable, internationally visible form that supports garden enthusiasts.

Why is the knowledge of rose collectors crucial?

The real value of a variety is often decided in practical details. Collector experience adds particular value where buyers are most likely to make mistakes.

  • tolerance: under heat, rainfall, extremes and transitional periods,
  • growth balance: how steadily it develops and regenerates,
  • reliability of flowering: repetition, intensity, timing,
  • maintenance needs: what it requires and what it does not tolerate,
  • garden suitability: in which situations it “shows its best”.

If these observations are systematically added to the variety pages, better decisions are made, disappointments are fewer, and quality varieties find their audience faster.

Spreading garden rose varieties

This is a multi-stakeholder process in which each participant’s unique contribution and harmonious cooperation create success.

Participants

  • Breeder: develops new rose varieties through long and costly work; a task that requires unique expertise.
  • Distributor: brings varieties into production, ensures they can be purchased and makes them available across Europe.
  • Rose collectors, rose enthusiasts: authentic observers of the practical value of varieties; with their multi-year experience they support buyers and contribute to the preservation of varieties.
  • Rose buyers: the driving force of the rose market; through their choices and feedback they confirm which varieties work well in gardens.

Requirements

  • Feedback: ensuring and maintaining the exchange of information between participants.
  • Transparency: collector observations appear as experience-based recommendations within clear boundaries.
  • Approval: before publication the final text is released only with the collector’s approval.

Implementation

The coordinator of the process is the distributor, who:

  • brings together all participants,
  • produces and ensures the availability of the varieties,
  • maintains contact with breeders,
  • has international market platforms (32 languages, 160 online shops),
  • systematises and edits collector experience into a unified format,
  • consults and seeks approval prior to publication,
  • continuously analyses interest and sales data,
  • conducts active marketing across all sales channels.

PharmaRosa® Kft. presents the experience of rose collectors on the variety pages under Your name and with Your country indicated – supporting buying decisions while also recognising the work of collectors.

Named appearance on rose variety pages

One of the most important elements of the programme is that collector experience does not appear anonymously, but together with Your professional credibility. On the variety pages we display the collector’s recommendation in a dedicated section so that visitors can immediately see that it is based on real, multi-year observation.

What does this mean for You as a rose collector?

  • Professional recognition by name across Europe.
  • Moral appreciation: the experience is linked to Your name and does not “fade away” in the background.
  • Professional imprint, legacy: in the longer term, certain varieties may be associated with Your name.
  • Structured, searchable presence: knowledge does not just live in comment threads, but supports others in the form of variety pages.
  • Optional own photo material: images taken in Your garden add extra value.

How does it appear on the variety page?

  • “Collector’s recommendation – [Name], [country]” appears on the variety page,
  • short, essential observations: strengths, sensitivities, recommended use,
  • optionally: observation time span (for example 3–10 years),
  • content that can be updated: if new experience emerges, it can be refined,
  • if available: integration of photo material taken in Your own garden.

Professional and ethical principles

  • Recognition by name: the recommendation appears with Your name.
  • Experience-based framework: we present the content as observation and practical recommendation.
  • Fairness and approval: before publication, You approve the final text.
  • Long term: the link between the varieties and Your name is a value we preserve.

The shared goal: to preserve the diversity of roses and support garden enthusiasts, while giving the work of rose collectors a worthy, visible place.

Would You like to join the Rose Collectors Programme and have Your professional experience appear by name on rose variety pages across Europe?

We will put together a ready-to-use “collector’s recommendation” package: a short professional framework and template, unified editing, an approval process and the method of named appearance, so that Your experience can offer real help to buyers.

  • Discussion of Your collecting focus and the range of varieties
  • Preparation of short, structured recommendations for the variety pages (strengths, sensitivities, recommended use)
  • Unified editing and linguistic refinement of collector observations
  • Ensuring approval before publication
  • Appearance by name: [Name], [country] on the variety pages
  • Continuous feedback: based on interest and user reactions
